Greyton Mountain Run 2011 |
|
Are you a trail runner lusting for an iconic race experience in the Western Cape?
Greyton is gearing up for some exciting trail running events in October and November this year. Spectacular routes of 32 km and 12 km cater for both ultra and fairly fit runners.
The 32 km Bushmans Blitz is a staggering route. Runners hit the legendary Boesmanskloof Trail from Greyton to McGregor, returning the same day through the Reserve. It is a technical trail with steep ascents and descents, loose rocks and narrow single-track paths. The trail is strenuous and is only recommended for fit and experienced trail runners.
An equally scenic and enjoyable run is the 12 km Greyton Mountain Run. This stunning trail in the Greyton Nature Reserve features lots of single track paths through fynbos and giant high proteas. Varied terrain, cool water crossings, breathtaking views and mildly technical. This challenge is definitely worth your while for a great, scenic and enjoyable run in the mountains with pure country air.
Entries are limited and only pre-entries are accepted. Registration from 07:00 at the venue. Bushmans Blitz starts at 08:00, Greyton Mountain Run starts at 09:00. Prize giving around 13:00. |
